Here’s the thing, talking all things grief & loss are my wheelhouse but, I have people in my corner that constantly tell me that there is a system & workflow that I need to be mindful of. So, here are a few important items for you to look over in preparation for our time together. I’ve even included some checklists for you for the week & final days leading up to our event!

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or my team if you need anything between now and the presentation.

E-mail is the only form of communication that we accept right now (unless otherwise stated). This will help to make sure nothing falls through the cracks and you know exactly what to expect from us and vice versa.

IN PERSON EVENTS

In my experience, events run smoothest when there is one point of contact.

Please let us know who this is and what their email is. E-mail will be the only form of communication when it comes to planning/changing event details.

  • Let’s get some graphics designed!

    Please send us all of the event details you would like to include on your complimentary Death Ed. electronic poster! E.g. Date/Time/Venue/Contact Info/Sponsors/Logos/Eventbrite links etc. - please make sure all logos you send have a transparent background. If they don’t, we will not be able to use them. Please remember, the sooner you provide us with all of the information, the sooner we can return a graphic to you. In hopes of not going back and forth more than necessary, we will not send this to our design team until we have all of the information! Once we have everything to the design team, we typically see the first draft within 3-4 business days*. We are happy to make one round of small edits, however, only one design will be provided to you at no extra cost.


    *In the event that you would like your poster sooner than the designated time-frame, we can try to make arrangements with our design team. Please be advised that this option is never a guarantee and it comes with a fee for the expedited turn-around time.

    Your final invoice will be emailed to you one (1) week before your event date and payment will be due* forty-eight (48) hours prior to your scheduled event

    When we talk about hard things it is normal for our voice to soften and in turn get a little quiet. Please be sure to have a microphone and P.A. system available.

    • Although my presentation is almost exclusively delivered without visual aids, there is one worksheet I offer that is nice to see on the big screen. Please make sure there is a projector and screen available. If this is a small group session, please let me know and I can simply email the workbooks as an alternative.

  • LANGUAGE DISCLAIMER :

     It is important you know that I get excited talking about grief and loss and sometimes this is accompanied by some colourful language. I don’t celebrate cursing, however, it has been known to be a part of my delivery. Please know, I don’t add disclaimers to any of the graphics we create, however, understand that if you need to add a disclaimer to your social media and online promotion of the event, I completely understand.

One Week Before:

  • Confirm location and detailed address of the event

  • During COVID-19 Pandemic: confirm comfort level of host and speaker to move forward with the event based on the existing restrictions.

  • Your final invoice should be in your inbox! We recommend paying this as soon as possible to avoid any disappointment. The final deadline for your remaining balance to be received is forty-eight (48) hours prior to your scheduled event.

2 Days Prior to the EvenT:

  • Confirm availability of microphone, PA system and projector.

  • Confirm arrival time to allow time to test out all technology.

  • Do you need workbooks sent your way? Let us know so we can make sure you have enough time to prepare the resources for your event! As the event host you will be responsible for printing your own copy of the workbook for our session.

  • Questions? This is the cutoff to confirm any last minute details! Final requests cannot be guaranteed on the day of the event.

  • Final payment DUE!

Day of the Event:

  • Let’s dance! If we get to this point, I am officially beyond excited to meet you in person and pull up a seat to the table for my friends Grief & Loss!

  • TECH SETUPS + RECORDING :

    • If we are hosting the online event, the platform we use is Zoom! Please be sure to have this downloaded to your device and an account setup so you can be logged in prior to the event starting.

    • We are really flexible to be able to use whatever platform best suits you, the host. If you prefer to use another online platform, E.G. Google Meet, simply send us the link two days before the event and I will be happy to join you in your space! Make sure all the participants are familiar with the platform and know how to run their video/microphone/speakers as needed! If you will be using a platform that I am not familiar with, I will touch base with you on this.

    • We want you to receive full value from the presentation but, please remember that recording online events is prohibited as per our contract.

  • Do you need workbooks sent your way? Let us know so we can make sure you have enough time to prepare the resources for your event! As the event host you will be responsible for distributing the workbook to your participants for our session.

  • Confirm Zoom links and arrival time

  • Questions? This is the cutoff to confirm any last minute details! Final requests cannot be guaranteed on the day of the event.

  • Final payment DUE!

Day of the Event:

  • Buckle Up! I know we all miss seeing one another in person but I promise you that I will be showing up just as excited to deliver my knowledge online as I do in person!

 
 

PROMOTING THE EVENT:

  • We are happy to provide marketing material for both social platforms as well as printables for the specific event in order to ensure consistent messaging for your audience!

  • Please only use promotional materials provided by Death Ed. – consistent messaging is key in ensuring the events are well marketed.
    Use of any unauthorized promotional material including but not limited to images, written material, previous presentations whether written or in audio/video recording is expressly forbidden without the written consent of Death Ed.

CANCELLATIONS AND RESCHEDULES:

  • We are happy to provide marketing material for both social platforms as well as printables for the specific event in order to ensure consistent messaging for your audience!

  • Please only use promotional materials provided by Death Ed. – consistent messaging is key in ensuring the events are well marketed.

PAYMENT INFO :

  • For payments by cheque : payable to Jeremy Allen Consulting at P.O. Box 1079, Provost, Alberta, T0B 3S0.

  • For payment by e transfer: payable to Hello@DeathEd.ca – please be sure to note the date of the event in the notes of the e transfer.
